Some top performances from Week 2

Kyle Stadelmyer, Girard

The Indians won a surprisingly lopsided game against Campbell Memorial, 34-0, and Stadelmyer, a junior running back, rushed for 199 yards and four of Girard’s five touchdowns.

Sal Battles, East

The senior accounted for 160 of the Panthers’ 245 yards in their 20-3 victory over Fitch. Battles rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown, and he completed all four passes he attempted for 61 yards.

Darrell Mason, Ursuline

In the Irish’s 56-0 victory over East Liverpool, the junior running back rushed for 114 yards on just 12 carries and scored a touchdown. Ursuline finished the game with 327 rushing yards on only 37 attempts. Mason is averaging 9 yards per carry this season.

Ryan Williams, Columbiana

The Clippers were six quarters into their season and staring at a 21-0 deficit against Leetonia and an 0-2 start to their season. Williams, Columbiana’s senior quarterback, led a second-half comeback with a 59-yard scoring run, 130 yards rushing and another 50 passing. His performance helped the Clippers complete a 24-21 win when Josh Harold converted a 20-yard field goal in overtime.
