The Spartans rebounded nicely from their opening loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius by drubbing Toledo Start, 49-6. RB Tyler Amendola rushed for four TDs and has 190 yards rushing on the year. RB/LB Brandon Beachum injured his knee last Saturday and is questionable for this week’s game. QB Dan McCarthy had close to 200 total yards last weekend. The Knights, coming off a 28-0 loss to a very good Walsh Jesuit team, are led by RB/LB Steve Hoak, who missed last year’s Mooney game with injury. QB Josh Masters will need to play well (he passed for more than 200 yards in an opening win over Akron Garfield). His main target is WR Will Fleming, a Division I college recruit.

LAKEVIEW (1-1) vs. NILES (2-0)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. at Bo Rein Stadium.

Niles is led by RB Nate Ganyard, who rushed for 137 yards and four TDs last week against Lincoln West. QB Vince Melillo threw for 96 yards and Dan Rosenberger caught four passes for 81 yards.
