Champion’s defense shuts down Brookfield
CHAMPION — Kristopher Wildman rushed for 164 yards and scored three touchdowns, and the Champion defense was dominant in a 32-0 victory over Brookfield in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game Friday night.
Wildman scored two first-half touchdowns to give the Golden Flashes (5-4, 2-4 TAC) a 13-0 lead. Joe Cvengros then tossed scoring passes of 8 and 11 yards to Dave VonBergan. Wildman closed the scoring with about 10 minutes remaining with a 20-yard scamper.
Cvengros completed 5-of-9 passes for 56 yards; all the completions went to VonBergan.
Brookfield (5-4, 2-4) was outgained 288-50 and held to one first down. Devin O’Brien rushed 10 times for 12 yards and completed 2-of-10 passes for 16 yards to lead the Warriors.

LEAVITTSBURG — Cameron Truss rushed 27 times for 238 yards and he scored on a 6-yard run for the Vikings (4-5, 2-4) in the Trumbull Athletic Conference contest.
Brian Watkins scored on a pair of 1-yard runs for the Vikings.
Tigers’ Brian Sole connected on 18-of-38 passes for 274 yards, which included a 25-yard TD strike to Joe Zigler.
