Leetonia falls in regional, 49-14
BASCOM — Tyler Brown threw for 221 yards and four touchdowns, leading Hopewell-Loudon to a 49-14 victory over Leetonia in a Division VI, Region 21 quarterfinal playoff game Saturday.
Hopewell-Loudon (11-0), the top-ranked team in the final Associated Press poll, scored 28 points in the second quarter, three touchdowns coming from the arm of Brown, to take a 35-0 lead over the Bears (7-4).
Brown completed 11 of 19 passes, and Adam Brickner rushed 14 times for 74 yards and two TDs.
Leetonia’s Jake Kruegel rushed for 42 yards on 14 carries, and scored both of his team’s touchdowns in the fourth quarter, a 12-yard run and a 40-yard pass from Josh Selway. Selway was 4-of-6 for 70 yards.
