There were no spectacular performances by the Pigskin Pick ’Em panelists in week 10. Sports writers Tom Williams, Mark Miller and Bill Sullivan were the pacesetters, but they managed to pick only 16 of 20 winners. Williams’ performance, coupled with WFMJ sports director Dana Balash’s 14-6 finish, zoomed him into first place by one game. Sullivan is tied for third place with sports writers Pete Mollica and John Bassetti. Traditionally, the playoffs mean tougher games to pick, so the leaderboard could be shuffled dramatically in the next five weeks … which means there’s still hope for sports writer Joe Scalzo, whose three-year reign as champion could be coming to an end. Scalzo is so distraught over this possibility he actually considered picking against his alma mater.
