The Boardman Township trustees crushed their Austintown counterparts in a cornhole tournament Friday.
The fun showdown, sponsored by The Vindicator's Blitzmobile tailgate party, was played before the rival high school teams took the football field.
Boardman Trustees Brad Calhoun, Thomas Costello and Larry Moliterno faced off against Austintown Trustees David Ditzler, Lisa Oles and Jim Davis.
Boardman trustees won the first game 21-8 and the second game 21-5 in a best of three tournament.
"As long as the [Austintown] guys on the field win, I'm not disappointed," Davis said.
Austintown trustee David Ditzler joked that his opponents weren't the real Boardman trustees, but instead impostors wearing masks.
"I wish the Austintown trustees would have shown up," quipped Costello.
The tournament pepped up the crowd around the Blitz trailer, where volunteers handed out free hot dogs and T-shirts.
The Vindy Blitzmobile gets to five games per season, and this was the first time we'd been able to attract elected officials to square off.

The actal football game was won by Boardman, too.
