Once in awhile in this job, you’re part of a special moment that you don’t see coming.
Monday was it.
A few friends conspired to get Hunter Crites to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ training camp. It’s his favorite team. Hunter has been a standout member of the Easter Seals kids crew, and a few months back, took his first steps without crutches through extensive therapy.
The Steelers trip was a surprise to him until he pulled into the parking lot in Latrobe, Pa. on Monday.
What was a surprise to me and the rest of us was the agenda of defensive end Nick Eason. Not surprising is the size of his heart.
