I know this is another sports topic, but I had to share the love now as this sport's season is coming to a close.

Our sports staff made a commitment to more wrestling coverage this season.

We'll have more next week when local teams and wrestlers head to states.

But our efforts have drawn some fans. We appreciate the kind words and wish you the best in the next week.

Here are the letters:

Dear Editor,
Thank you for your newspaper’s coverage of high school wrestling. High school wrestling is a big thing in Northeast Ohio but gets little coverage.
There are many good teams and individuals who do well on the local and state levels. Your coverage of these teams and individuals makes their effort worth it. Keep up the good work.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say “Thank You” for the Vindicator’s coverage of wrestling this year. We are very proud of the hard work and effort of our student athletes at Canfield High School and we appreciate Eric Hamilton’s coverage of our sport. I have received a ton of positive feedback from other parents, friends, and strangers about our program and its successes from information obtained from your paper. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “ I’ve read about you guys in the Vindicator”….
 
So on behalf of the entire Canfield wrestling community, thanks again and please keep up the coverage!

Mr. Franko,

I am a wrestling coach at Warren John F. Kennedy, and I just wanted to take a moment to thank (The Vindy for) coverage of wrestling. Wrestling is a very difficult sport, coupled with the fact that basketball is all that is covered in the newspaper and on tv and it makes it that much more difficult to expose kids to the sport that I know I love.

Thus, being able to read about the all of the local athletes competing in wrestling is one reason why I purchase the Vindy every Friday and Sunday and I have encouraged other parents to do the same.

Dear Mr. Franko:

I would like to thank you and the Vindicator for the coverage of wrestling this year. I don't think people outside of wrestling realize how big it is in this area. I was surprised myself when my son started in 8th grade. He is now in 11th grade and this is the first year he has had his name mentioned in the paper. 
Usually you have to get a magnifying glass to find anything on wrestling. These kids work so hard and deserve to have their sport covered.  I hope that you will continue the good work and more.

Dear Todd,
In a Northeastern Ohio football-crazed reader base, I can't tell you how much it means to me and all the coaches the extra coverage of matches as well as updates on some of the area kids who have continued on with wrestling in college.
I have recently sent in our school’s wrestlers with their current records. I would not have done this in the past due to the fact that it seemed difficult to get the information into the paper,
