There has to be an ounce of relief this morning somewhere in someone's venti nonfat carmel macchiato no vanilla made in one of five Starbucks locations in the valley.

Those locations won't be shutting down, Starbucks announced. Here's a http://www.examiner.com/a-1493655~Starbucks_to_close_9_Ohio_stores.html" target="_blank">report on the ones closing in Ohio.

The Valley is consistently on a bunch of not-so-fun lists. Crime, job loss, poverty rate, government jobs, single parents, foreclosed homes, etc.

We're even on lists we don't imagine, like sweaty city lists.

So given all of this, when Starbucks announced it was closing doors across America, local 'Buckers likely looked at their store as the one and immediately added the miles and gas cost to the next nearest Starbucks.

Alas, it's not to be. Drink up to a good list to be on.

Coffee-wise, it makes no difference to me. I'm fine with my $1.09 generic-Colombian-grown nonfat, nonbrand name, nonnothing 16-oz coffee from East Point Place.

I just like not being on a closing list.
