Man, it's just not a good day; make that week.
The flu had me dragging Monday; out Tuesday; back at it today, but still out of it, so to speak.
I'm glad to know it's not just me.
Area hospitals are limiting visitations due to an uptick in flu cases.
We'll have a story Thursday looking at the situation. Here's a snippet from reporter Bill Alcorn's story:
“The Youngstown area is reporting an increase in flu and flu-like cases,” said Lyn Pethtel, infection control coordinator at Salem Community Hospital.
“Locally, we have seen an increased number of flu and flu-like illnesses that cause fever, respiratory symptoms and diarrhea. While most people recover from these symptoms in a few days, hospitalized patients who become infected with these illnesses may develop significant complications,” Pethtel said.
I got a flu shot once in my life, that I recall, and I got sick that year. Wasn't a fan of shots before that year, even more so afterward. One doctor in our story says it's not too late to still get a shot for this year's flu season.
