Keno comes to Ohio. What hypocrisy!

Now there's Keno in Ohio — to go along with the state lottery (complete with scratch-off tickets that cost from $1 to $20) horse racing and bingo (with cherry poppers, no doubt). And yet, Ohio (or at least the Bible thumpers, conservative Republicans and the Ohio Roundtable) continues to stick its nose up in the air with regard to casino gambling.

Talk about hypocrisy. To pretend that Keno is not casino-style gaming is to pretend that the voters of Ohio who have turned down issues that would have permitted casinos do not gamble at all.

It's time for the Buckeye State to grow up. Either get rid of all gambling, including bingo, which is a goldmine for the Catholic Church, or end the farce that is the argument put forth by the opposition.

Right now what exists is a situation similar to a woman being somewhat pregnant. You either are, or you aren't.

Indeed, the state has sanctioned 2,000 locations where Ohioans can drink and play Keno.

We've become a national joke.
