More than 200 telephone calls were placed between the Cafaro Co. headquarters on Belmont Avenue in Youngstown and several Mahoning County government officials as the debate raged over the relocation of the county Job and Family Services agency.

Officials of the Cafaro Co. were determined not to lose the JFS lease at the McGuffey Mall. They lauched an aggressive campaign against the two commissioners who were committed to the relocation, Anthony Traficanti and David Ludt.

The public does not have the details of the conversations involving Cafaro officials and county government officeholders and others. But it clear from the timelines of the calls that there was a lot of chatter.
