Millersburg Brewing Co. craft beers are now available in the Mahoning Valley, thanks to R.L. Lipton Distributing.

Lipton continues to expand its craft beer portfolio with Millersburg, which began brewing craft beers in 2012.

Here are the Millersburg beers now available in the Mahoning Valley, and what Mahoning Valley Flight Crew members had to say about them:

David Anderson French Ridge IPA (7.5% ABV, 70 IBU) This West Coast-style IPA has a nice citrus, pine and passion fruit aroma.

“Millersburg’s French Ridge IPA says on the can that it’s brewed with over four pounds of hops per barrel, and it shows! This is a flavorful IPA with strong hints of citrus. This was very refreshing and easy to drink. I highly recommend picking this one up if you’re a fan of IPAs.”

Jason Jugenheimer Lot 21 Blonde Ale (5.5% ABV, 27 IBU) A low-hopped and refreshing light-bodied ale. Pilsner and Munich malts make this blonde ale easy and smooth on the palate.

“Millersburg Lot 21 Blonde Ale is a crisp and refreshing blonde ale that would pair perfectly with hot wings or grass cutting. It has a beautiful golden color and smooth flavor that could certainly bring a domestic beer drinker over to the craft beer side. Another excellent Ohio-brewed beer.”

Joe Sanfilippo Panther Hollow Vanilla Porter (6.25% ABV, 38 IBU) A robust porter with the addition of vanilla beans. This porter is rich in chocolate and crystal malts with a hint of coffee flavor (there is no coffee added.)

“Once I poured the Panther Hollow Vanilla Porter into a glass, I knew it was going to be a good one. The first thing I smelled was the vanilla aroma. The hops with the vanilla and chocolate flavor and a very subtle hint of coffee at the finish makes this one you need to try.”

Keep your eyes on the shelves of local retail outlets and watch the tap handles at your favorite bars and restaurants for these Millersburg beers. How do you know if you’ve found a Millersburg beer? The image of company mascot, Wild Rosie, will tip you off.

And, if you make it to Holmes County, the heart of Ohio Amish Country, stop by Millersburg’s taproom to try some of the brand’s other offerings. The Mahoning Flight Crew’s very own Dave Shively did recently and says it’s definitely worth the trip.
