The Mahoning Valley Flight Crew made another of its frequent stops at Birdfish Brewery in Columbiana this weekend. On tap was another great addition to the holiday season — the Christmas in Paradise Belgian Xmas Ale.

This beer was the first of hopefully many in-house collaborations brewed by bartender, Ryan Guy, and head brewer Jared Channel. Amie Holko also collaborated on this one.

They incorporated fresh cranberries and ginger to the boil and additional cranberry later.

The result is a beer that checks in at 7% ABV with a nice amber color and sweet yeasty smell of a traditional Belgian ale. It has a nice complex flavor and finishes smooth with a fruity sweetness that makes it a nice light hearted addition to any holiday event.

Stop by Friday or Saturday till 5 and pick up a growler to make your Christmas Eve a little bit brighter.
