- 2014 Purple Heart Red - Napa Valley, CA $20
This is an excellent wine that supports an important cause: America's veterans. Winemakers David Grega and Ray Coursen partnered with C. Mondavi and Family to produce this wine. They make a generous donation to the Purple Heart Foundation as a result of the collaboration.
Aromas of plum, cinnamon and cassis with floral notes. Flavors of red and black berries give way to a hint of dried currants. Well balanced tannins with silky texture and a lingering finish. Drinks delightfully now and will continue to develop 4-5 more years.
80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet, 4% Petite Sirah, 1% Petit Verdot
- 2015 Domaine Bousquet Malbec - Mendoza, Argentina
Made with 100% organic grapes from Argentina's Uco Valley near the foothills of the Andes Mountains. The Domaine Bousquet estate consists of 265 hectares at an elevation of 400 feet. The vineyards benefit from a cool climate with gravel and sandy soil.
Intense aromas of rich blackberry, black currant and spicy black pepper notes. Flavors of blackberry, ripe plum and baker's chocolate create a soft mouthfeel with good structure and length.
100% Malbec. Ideal with red meats, past with red sauce and heartier cheeses.
- 2013 Rotari Brut Sparkling Wine - Trento DOC, Italy
From vineyards in the foothills of the Alps in Italy's northernmost wine region. Made following the timeless "Metodo Classico", the wine aged is aged on the lees for 24 months. The winery utilizes narrowly defined growing areas and yield control.
A rich, fresh and intense bouquet of pineapple, green apple, white flowers and subtle yeast. Fine' elegant and persistent on the palate with full body and pleasant acidity.
100% Chardonnay "Blanc de Blanc"
