Valley wine lovers will gather in Boardman this Sunday for two wine events that benefit a great cause. Master Sommelier Larry O'Brien will be master of cermemonies for the events. O'Brien, profiled in a recent Vindicator print feature, is returning to his home town to help rasie money for Cardinal Mooney High School.

The CA Restaurant in Boardman is hosting the two events, with Chef Mark Canzonetta creating the culinary courses. The main event, "Tasting and Grazing", is now sold out. There are still tickets available for the "So You Think You Can Taste?" event. Tickets are $30 per person.

"So You Think You Can Taste?" is a fun, interactive, blind comparative tasting of six wines. The event is designed to challenge pre-conceived notions about wine's quality and value. Guests will enjoy a smaller, more intimate setting with O'Brien leading the blind tasting and discussion of each wine. The tasting will be accompanied by a small plate composed by Chef Mark, and paired with the wines. The event runs 4-5:30PM Sunday.

Blind tasting is one of the cornerstones of the American Court of Master Sommelier's training program. It is taught at every level of Sommeleir education, so O'Brien will be an excellent host for this format. Blind tasting is also a great way for the average wine enthusiast to "test"their own palate and tasting skills in a fun setting. Wine lovers are often surprised when the veil is lifted and the wines are revelaed.

Tickets for "So You Think You Can Taste" can be purchaed by calling (330) 788-5007.
