Valley wine lovers are buzzing in anticipation of a local wine event featuring on of Napa Valley's most respected wineries. Clos Du Val Winery has been making high quaility wines on Napa's famous Silverado Trail for decades. Thursday July 17th will mark the first time anyone from Clos Du Val has ever visited the Mahoning Valley for a great night of wine and food.

Tom Gordon will team up with Station Square Ristorante and local wine club Valley Vino for an eent featuring five incredible wines paired with some amazing dinner courses. The event is open to the public and reservations are required. Seating on the Tuscan Patio is limited to the first 42 reservations. The price for wine and dinner is $45 with wine tasting only costing $25.

Here's a look at the five wines being featured:

2012 Sauvignon Blanc

The aromatics are alive with notes of tropical fruit, pineapple and fresh grass. It opens with flavors of citrus, guava, and fresh apples that meet a rich yet vibrant mouthfeel. The wine is balanced and complex yet refreshing enough for any occasion.

2011 Chardonnay, Carneros Estate

The 2011 Chardonnay is pale gold in color with aromas of creme brulee accented with hints of pear, white peach and apricot. The palate is met with rich, tropical fruit flavors and a subtle touch of citrus. While creamy and full bodied, this chardonnay exhibits a balance and elegance which are characteristic of Clos Du Val's style. The result is a wine that complements food and culminates in a long, crisp finish.

2012 Pinot Noir

The superb vintage of 2012 has produced a truly elegant and balanced wine indicative of our historic Carneros vineyard estate. The color is brilliant ruby, and the aromas open to elements of bright raspberry, red currant and nutmeg. The palate is met with flavors of pomegranate, vanilla, and cola and is supported with soft tannins that provide structure and silkiness. Its lingering finish makes this wine wonderful with food, but especially perfect to enjoy by the glass.

2010 Napa Merlot

Full-bodied and deep plum in color, the 2010 Merlot offers aromas of complex yet vibrant black fruit, spice, dark chocolate and a hint of toast. The mouth-feel is warm and rich, with a solid middle marked with flavors of black cherry and blueberry punctuated with a silky, lingering finish. Enjoy this exceptional wine now and in years to come.

2011 Napa Valley Cabernet

The cool vintage of 2011 allowed us a rather different approach in the vineyard than we normally get to have. Cool temperatures allowed a long hang time of fruit on the vine, contributing to ripe, yet elegant aromatics. It has notes of chocolate, blackberry and fresh black pepper on the nose. The textures are far silkier than recent vintages, creating a vibrant wine with flavors of toffee, vanilla, blueberry and currant. The tannins are well integrated, creating a wine for which Clos Du Val is known; balanced, elegant, and classic.

You can make your reservations for this great night of wine and food by calling Station SDquare Ristorante or by visiting www.myvalleyvino.com. The event starts at 6:30Pm on the 17th.
