I've enjoyed a lot of fun events and shared in some success since founding Valley Vino Wine Club four years ago. I've been fortunate to work with some of the finest restaurants and clubs in our Valley, and we have thrown some great parties together. We will enjoy a very special occasion on April 10th, as we bring in our first winery Owner to town for a local event.

Bill Myers of White Oak Winery will be pouring his wines and visiting every table at what is sure to be a sold out event at Station Square Ristorante. Needless to say, a market the size of Youngstown doesn't often attract a California winery Owner. We are thrilled that Mr. Myers agreed to join us for this special evening.

I recently had a chance to visit White Oak Winery and taste all the wines we are featuring for the event. I am really proud of the lineup we are offering for this event. Chef Ottavio Musumeci has created a very special five course Tapas menu paired with the wines.

Guests can taste the five wines for $20 or enjoy the wine /dinner pairings for only $45. If folks want to enjoy items from Station Sqaure's extensive menu, that option is available as well.

Here's a look at the wines and their dinner pairings:

1. 2012 White Oak Russian River Sauvignon Blanc

Paired with a warm homemade crab meatball set atop a homemade arugula and sun dried tomato pesto sauce

2. 2011 White Oak Russian River Chardonnay

Paired with a six-wood smoked atlantic salmon with a fresh chive sauce

3. 2008 White Oak Napa Valley Merlot

Paired with an all natural chicken breast Saltimbocca with Prosciutto di Parma Sage and Swiss Cheese

4. 2009 White Oak Napa Valley Syrah

Paired with ravioli filled braised veal and beef topped with a rosemary veal reduction sauce

5. 2005 White Oak Winery Napa Valley Cabernet

Paired with 100% organic mini sirloin braciola stuffed Sicilian style and topped with Roma tomato sauce

There is limited space for this event, which is already half sold out. Anyone wishing to attend should visit www.myvalleyvino.com or call Station Square Ristorante at 330-759-8802. Please specify if you plan to do wine taste only or wine /dinner.
