Everyone knows I'm a wine guy, but when the temperatures start to spike above 90 degrees there is not much better than a cold beer at the end of the day. Brewmasters are finding all kinds of innovative ways to make their beer more refreshing in the summer. We see hundreds of summe ales on the market these days, many have lemon infused in the brew kettle.

Here's a look at five fruit infused beers great for summer drinking:

1. Lienekugel Summer Shandy

One of the original Shandys made with real lemonade added to a lighter ale

2. Ithaca Apricot Wheat

Really smooth and mellow with full apricot flavor across the palate

3. Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat

A long time favorite of mine. Not many tangerine beers out there. This one delivers!

4. Victory Summer of Love

A German style Golden Ale with hints of lemon on the finish from some special hops.

5. Samuel Smith Organic Cherry Ale

Intense charry flavor comes through continuously as you drink it. Special!

Most of these beers are available in your better part shops and independent retailers around the Valley. May of these are also becoming available in chain grocery stores like Giant Eagle. If you don't see them on the shelf, ask your store manager to order them in for you. Enjoy some great summer refreshment!
