Jim Howe is going to be one busy man in 2013. Howe was recently hired as Wine Coordinator for Station Square Ristorante. He helped Station Square owner Ottavio Mussumeci rebuild their wine list into a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence Winner in 2012. Howe played a key role in researching and implementing the things that The Wine Spectator requires to get on the exclusive list

Mussumeci identifies Howe's ability to work with employees and patrons alike as a key factor in his hiring:

"Jim has a great personality. He's not stuffy or pretentious. He understands the overall goals of the restaurant and we do the wine work together with those goals in mind. It's not just about wine. I look at him like a Floor Supervisor working with customers, wait staff, kitchen and bar personnel."

Howe also runs a local wine organization called Wine and Dine Ohio. The group started as a monthly wine tasting club, but under Howe's leadership it has eveolved into club that focuses on a monthly newsletter promoting wine events around the Valley. Wine and Dine Ohio will shift it's tasting focus to charitable events in 2013, reducing the monthly tastings to quarterly.

The Wine and Dine Ohio e-newsletter is informative, and well-organized. It brings to light the fact that there is likely to be a great wine event in our Valley each week.Howe plans to expand and grow the e-newsletter throughout 2013. He will continue to be the Wine Manager for local distributor Nannicola Imports in addition to his duties at Station Square and Wine and Dine Ohio.
