We’ve made quite a few excursions into Columbiana County over the years to see what they have to offer when it comes to burgers, and we are always impressed. We now present to you a list of the BURGERGUYZ top 5 burgers of Columbiana county. Any one of these are worth the trip whether you’re local or not. It’s hard to argue with taste, and these five restaurants could win most any debate. What do you think of our Top 5? Are there any restaurants we missed? We’d love to hear what you think!
5 - Mason’s Steak House & Lounge
Mason’s Steak House & Lounge, located in Washingtonville on Route 14 welcomes patrons with a great menu and friendly atmosphere. If you aren’t walking out with a satisfied appetite and a feeling like you are part of their family, then you obviously aren’t at Mason’s. With three different burgers to select from, we are sure you’ll be making more than one trip.
4 - Bojangle’s Road House Blues
Drive a little further down Route 14 into New Waterford and you will happen upon Bojangle’s Road House Blues. Once inside, you’ll find yourself immersed in the sights and smells of a truly rocking restaurant. The menu boasts a dozen different burgers that will go great paired with the sounds of classic rock, jazz, or even the amazing local artists who play on the weekends.
3 - Mike’s Penn Ave. Grille
Nestled quietly on the corner of State Street and, you guessed it, Penn Avenue in Salem you will find Mike’s. One of Salem’s worst kept secrets since 2004, the Grille is a favorite amongst anyone in town. If you’ve been through Salem and have never stopped, you are doing yourself a great injustice. It’s not every day that you will be able to able to taste delicacies crafted by hands that were trained by the legendary Wolfgang Puck!
2 - The Shale Tavern & Grill Transitioning over to Lisbon, you’ll find the Shale Tavern & Grill on State Route 154 just off Route 11. Boasting six, half-pound burgers within its menu, the Shale Tavern brings great dining with a cozy, at home setting. But that’s just part of the restaurant. If you’re looking for a night out with your friends, you can’t go wrong with enjoying the fine cuisine seated at the antique bar.
1 - Pondi’s Restaurant & Bar
Staying in Lisbon, you’d be only doing yourself harm if you neglected to try Pondi’s on State Route 45. For over a century, Pondi’s has been delivering amazing food to everyone who visits. They keep it simple yet intriguing with their build your own burger system, but the numerous combinations to choose from will help make sure you never have the same burger twice. Stop in and see why Pondi’s was within an eyelash from being the 2017 Burger of the Year.
