In the past, we have had restaurants ask us back because they didn't have their "A" game on, for some reason or another, the night we were there. However, with Crickets Bar & Grill, it was a little different. This time, it was a barrage of emails and messages from the burger loving public. In fact, there were so many that we just couldn't ignore them, so we contacted Crickets to see what all of the noise was about. We found that owners, Christine Holovatick, her son, Donald Holovatick, Jr., and daughter, Amanda Evanhoff, have been busy changing their menu to include burgers that are a 50/50 blend of quality ground chuck from Catullo Prime Meats with a much leaner Ohio raised, grass and grain fed beef from River Bend Farms in Kinsman. Also, they added a few new ones with some interesting flavors. We accepted their gracious invitation to stop by and try them for ourselves.

Our waitress, Shauna Karis, was very pleasant and very knowledgeable on the menus she brought us. She pointed out that they still have their old favorites, like the Brutus Burger, the Crickets Burger and the Rodeo Burger, but they also added a few more choices; the Bayou Bourbon Burger with grilled onions, bacon and a bourbon sauce, and the Pomegranate Chipotle Burger dressed with roasted red peppers, Cajun seasonings, lettuce, tomato, and of course, a rich pomegranate chipotle.

Our burgers arrived looking good. The toppings were all fresh and the toasted buns held up to the very end. We all agreed that the 50/50 blended meats were delicious and even the well-done burgers were still juicy. The new burgers are a nice addition to the line-up. The bourbon sauce on the Bayou Bourbon Burger is very tasty and teams up well with the grilled onions. The Pomegranate Chipotle Burger has a delicious flavor with a nice little kick.

We recommend checking out the new Crickets' burgers. If you liked them before you're going to love the re-chirped versions! Get there on Burger Night, (Wednesdays), and enjoy a premium half pound burger with fries for $6.75. If you mention that BURGERGUYZ sent you, you get nothing off, (but do it to be nice)!
