"Omar Mateen's father, Mir Seddique, spoke to NBC News about the shooting . "This had nothing to do with religion," he told the network.

"We were in downtown Miami, Bayside, people were playing music. And he saw two men kissing each other in front of his wife and kid and he got very angry," Seddique told NBC. "They were kissing each other and touching each other and he said, 'Look at that. In front of my son they are doing that.'..."

What could have been...what SHOULD have been:

Son, today, we saw men kissing. I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about LOVE. Love is indefinable with words. The love I have for you, the love I have for your mother is  from deep in my soul ! You see me with mom, today, you saw two men kissing...I can only hope they have a fraction of the love for each other as I have for you and your mom. When we feel the real LOVE, we cannot imagine that anyone else could possibly have those feelings...those knowings!

The day you were born, there were 349,999 other children born, but, as I watched your mother give birth to YOU, I could not believe that this 'miracle' was happening hundreds of thousands of times around the world ! 

Many have tried to define LOVE, yet, no one can. There are some things that need be experienced to be known. To (over)simplify it, can you describe what a lemon tastes like to someone who has never tasted a lemon?

My love for you, for your mother is indescribable. My love for you and your mom transcends EVERYTHING! 

There are men that are in love with other men, women that love other women. 

What's important is that we LOVE ! It's important, also, that we don't hate what is different to us.  A loving heart is a compassionate heart. 

You're far  too young now to know whom you will fall in love with...it may be a woman...it may be a man...what I wish for you is to find  LOVE... and, to keep an open and compassionate heart....and KNOW, your mother and I will ALWAYS LOVE YOU!
