Wednesday, 29 May, I  watched the 1953 film Titanic. I came to the realization that we're all Titanics.

We're all ships trying to navigate known and unknown waters, calm waters, rough waters and everything inbetween, thru sunrises and sunsets, thru calm days and stormy days ,we’ll ride thru them all ...ultimately sinking, going down, dying.

Some will sink slowly, others quickly.  But our navigating life's waters will end too soon for all but those who sink themselves.

My 96 yr old aunt, who's memory and mind is failing her, said to me recently, "Louis,  I'm not ready to die. I haven't seen all of the flowers bloom, plus, you and I  need more time to talk... "

I recently read Time Warped and had the honour of interviewing the author, Claudia Hammond, which has peaked my introspection regarding time.

Claudia writes about the perception of time speeding up as we age.  I'm writing this at the end of  May 2013 and STILL say to Bun, " wasn't it just New Years Eve"?

Turning 60 very recently , reminded me of my comment when I became 50, one decade ago, “well, at the very least, I know I've hit the halfway done mark....w/my history, I won't reach 100”.

I don't want this to sound like a depressing piece of writing when I say we're all Titanics. Just a reminder that we need make the best of the trip, enjoy the ride, and make it last as long as we're afloat. Too many captains are overly focused on where they HOPE to be going, rather than enjoying the journey, and where they are. Yes, we need to do our best while navigating troubled waters.

As the character Richard Sturges said near the end of the 1953 Titanic: " We have no time to catalogue our regrets."

Enjoy the smooth sailing, catch as many sunrises and sunsets, take an occasional barefoot walk in the rain, and love, Love, LOVE, for there's NO TIME BETTER to LOVE, than NOW.
