POLAND COPS SEEK LEADS IN KILLING OF 17 YEAR OLD

ok, the actual Vindicator headline was Police seek leads in shooting death of 17-year-old in Youngstown, so how much difference would the city or township make to you, the reader ?----- well, obviously A LOT - you're HERE NOW!    Would you have been, or shall
I say, WERE YOU as interested when you saw at the VERY bottom of the Sunday edition of The Vindicator ---, dwarfed by DOWNTOWN LIVING,  was the tiny print referencing a lost young life....as we find inside -- on page SIX: THE FOURTH HOMICIDE INVOLVING A MINOR THIS YEAR, and the juvenile murders have accounted for one-third of the city's 12 total homicides this year.

No listener of mine has any question regarding how I value  The Vindicator or newspapers in general. In fact, this is not a criticism of newspapers, it's more of an observation. Is the value of an inner-city black boy any different than a suburban white boy? Is it the 'well that happens in Youngstown but not (yet) in Poland,Canfield', etc? Or maybe because he had pot in his pockets - some how justifies a street death sentence? CERTAINLY none of y'all reading this EVER  had pot in YOUR pockets at 17, or 27 or 37...CERTAINLY suburbanites NEVER buy dope from 'the city' !!

We also learned today that there has been ANOTHER prosecutorial muck-up:

Marcell Roberson was charged in the shooting death of Kevin Hart - December 2009. Hart was shot a dozen times and found in his car in the area of Wick and Logan avenues.  Empty shell cases were strewn across the road, and the car was riddled with bullet holes with most windows shattered. Jury selection was to begin Monday morning, but the defense argued they did not obtain all the evidence needed from the state.Visiting Judge Charles Bannon agreed and dismissed the case, claiming the state had been warned twice before on the same issue.Prosecutors said they requested the dismissal, admitting they did not realize a witness statement had not been given to the defense.---- OY VEY IZ MIR ---AGAIN!!!!! Is this ANOTHER prosecutorial "meltdown"?

By-the-way, if you've forgotten the names of the other boys murdered in Youngstown this year:

De’Vail Fleeton, 16, of Norwood Avenue, a Chaney High School student, was found lying face down in an alley March 26 beside a Stewart Avenue home on the East Side.

Brandon Adkins, 16, of East Philadelphia Avenue, was found shot to death at about 11:30 p.m. on June 18 on the 3100 block of South Avenue on The South Side. Two juveniles are charged with his death.

Braylen Collins, 17, was shot at Evergreen Avenue and Summer Street on the South Side and died later at St. Elizabeth’s on July 29. Shonqualin Hendrix, 15, was arrested and charged with his murder several days later.
