Will Timmy do what the rest of the Democrats have refused?
I JUST finished screening Frontline/PBS's The Wounded Platoon :Since the Iraq War began, soldier arrests in the city of Colorado Springs, Colo., have tripled. At least 36 servicemen based at the nearby Army post of Fort Carson have committed suicide, and 14 Fort Carson soldiers have been charged or convicted in at least 11 killings. Many of the most violent crimes involved men who had served in the same battalion in Iraq. Three of them came from a single platoon of infantrymen. FRONTLINE tells the dark tale of the men of 3rd Platoon, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion of the 506th Infantry, and how the war followed them home. It is a story of heroism, grief, vicious combat, depression, drugs, alcohol and brutal murder; an investigation into the Army's mental health services; and a powerful portrait of what multiple tours and post-traumatic stress are doing to a generation of young American soldiers.
This Frontline feature that premiers Tuesday 18May on PBS is more PROOF that we must end these wars--something the Democrats, including President Obama assured us would happen, if and only if the Dems had the control they have today!!
Where are the anti-war protesters ? Will they be in Youngstown Monday 17May when President Obama photo-ops?
What happened to Bush Lied-They Died ?
The Obama Dems lied too and they're still dying.
...and what about the horrible traumatic stress disorder numbers? the handicap/amputees,etc??
For the heartless and soulless :
By Richard Wolf, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — The monthly cost of the war in Afghanistan, driven by troop increases and fighting on difficult terrain, has topped Iraq costs for the first time since 2003 and shows no sign of letting up.
Pentagon spending in February, the most recent month available, was $6.7 billion in Afghanistan compared with $5.5 billion in Iraq. As recently as fiscal year 2008, Iraq was three times as expensive; in 2009, it was twice as costly.
By the way-Anybody out there concerned about the rise in Autism and Alzheimers ? Dollars spent on the wars might help find the causes and/or the cures.
Veronica Torrejon, The (Allentown) Morning Call
HELLERTOWN, Pa. (AP) ― Days after Joie Gates learned that her son had killed himself in Afghanistan, she dashed off a letter to President Barack Obama.
It was an impassioned plea for him to take action to stem the number of military suicides, which last year exceeded the number of those who died in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a Congressional Quarterly report.
STILL not convinced?
Do NOT miss Frontline Tuesday 18May eve on PBS and my 17May interview w/ the producer of The Wounded Platoon.
Come on, young Timmy Ryan-do what the other Democrats have refused to do-END THESE WARS !!!
