It's either tax hikes for all or the end of collective bargaining for a small % of our the workers in Ohio.... Damned if you do or damned if you don't.
Fortunately I live in Austintown so my voice has a much greater say in this and those who do not live in this township.
When the first casino article hit the paper 2 months back, I thought the land on Rt. 46 near I-80 and Rt. 11 made perfect sense! This area is prime for development and would be right off the busiest truck/hotel stop from Chicago to New York on I-80.
I want to hear more details as well, such as tax revenues for the township, renderings, and a few other details, but I am most likely on board for this proposal.
I support casinos coming into the Mahoning Valley, not necessarily because it would create jobs, but it provides this community with additional entertainment and can help bring tourists to our area. In addition, the economic impact on Rt. 46 in Austintown would be tremendous. I've been saying for years that it is poised to be the next Rt. 224.
Mr. Kasich should be commended for coming here. It's one thing to make a statement from Columbus, but it is another thing to actually take the time out of your busy day to meet with the officials here in Youngstown.
Current State at YSU? I've been attending Youngstown State for 3 years now and prior to that, was right next to YSU's campus at Ursuline. I have never felt unsafe or threatened when down there... Not a single time.
Oh shut your mouth Brown. The shooting happened off campus on the North Side at a frat house in the middle of the night. Only 10% of the students at YSU even live on campus.
How about that. When looking at sites for a potential casino, this location in Austintown was at the top of my list. Perfect location on busy I-80 anr Rt. 11. Great spot of land, would love to see one there!
It was a great visit. Anyone who watched the visit online saw a man that is much different from his two predecessors. He has great new ideas and the right attitude to change Ohio!
If things do not improve, then I do not see how why we should pick up the option. There is no doubt our talent level may be at its highest level in a long time at YSU, but do we have the coach to get the wins with that talent is the question???

May, Patton make college choices
Rumppy, we are up to 21 commits and got another big recruiting weekend the next three days. Expect a solid class when it is all said and done.
The OL recruits average out over 310 pounds and our LB/Secondary recruits look very solid.

Kasich visits GM Lordstown, vows return
Kasich isn't going to let some ideologues posting on a newspaper website to deter his efforts to improve this state.
You guys can wish him failure all you want, but he is destined to succeed!
