Kasich is supposed to work for us

I am surprised the Vindicator does not hire Tim O'Hara. All of his Anti-Republican/Anti-Conservative editorials are published in this paper.

Needless to say Tim you are completely incorrect are blinded by your leftist ideology.

Few changes for Mahoning Valley football teams

Hubbard obviously had no chance to make it to the state semi's the past two years. They got steamrolled 55-0 vs. Mooney then lost last year to an average Akron SVSM team.

The playoffs weed out the teams that are not championship caliber.

And in regards to the competitive balance thing (as TS1227 said it has a slim chance of passing) it would push Mooney and Ursuline up, but by maybe a division at the most.

Group aims to boost Youngstown-Warren airport service

And it is worth noting, everyone working for YNGAir Partners are V-O-L-U-N-T-E-E-R-S taking the time out of their lives to help attract additional airline service for nothing!

New group takes upbeat approach to bring back daily airline service

Finally a well thought out comment. Instead of bashing the organization, why not give it a chance to succeed? The fact of the matter is this, we need this airport to help us expand the global economy into Youngstown.

TheThinker, can you please provide us with some proof of these other organizations that you made mention of below:

Every couple of years some group comes along and puts a different color lipstick on the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport and proudly proclaims, "it is not a pig."

Thanks!

OHSAA rules Fitch used ineligible players

Honestly, when the Vindicator wrote the article on these two a few months back, everyone knew that the OHSAA would become aware of it.

I can only imagine the reaction from you guys had this happened to Ursuline.

I never want to hear from an Austintown Fitch fan that Ursuline recruits ever again! Look who got the violations now lol.

Do you need visual proof to believe Osama bin Laden is really dead?

Unlike the commenter before me who cannot write, I am not going to make everything ideological. The bas---tard is dead and the world is a lot safer without him. I am with Obama and many Republicans and Democrats in saying we should NOT release the pictures.

I believe the cons outweigh the pros in this case. I commend President Obama for his decision, but the ones deserving the praise are those involved from the NAVY SEALS!

God Bless America!

Group aims to boost Youngstown-Warren airport service

To TaxedOff, using your logic, I have to be a Democrat to support the airport?!? That is a ridiculous notion and completely false. We are expecting a representative with Senator Portman to be there on May 11th, and as you know, he is a Republican. We intend to remain neutral politically and expect officials from both parties to support our efforts.

Furthermore, Allegiant Air is not subsidized by the airport. YNG used a SCASD grant to entice them to come here, but those funds ran out years ago and they operate at YNG without any subsidy whatsoever. The YNG flights on Allegiant Air to Orlando-Sanford, Tampa Bay, and Myrtle Beach are profitable due to the 97% average loads on those flights. Flights to Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myer's, and possibly even Las Vegas could be the next to come to YNG with continued support from the fliers of the Mahoning Valley.

And just so you know, the Akron-Canton Airport used a SCASD grant to assist AirTran in launching service between CAK and New York LaGuardia Airport in 2003. Like here in YNG, those funds ran out and that service runs a profit for AirTran at CAK without a subsidy.

Thank You.

Group aims to boost Youngstown-Warren airport service

TheThinker,

Please note that Allegiant Air is in-fact a commercial carrier, one of the top three most profitable in the United States, and has been serving the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport since May 2006.

Out of YNG, 97% of the seats on ALL Allegiant Air flights this year have been booked; which ranks it as one of the highest in the entire Allegiant Air system.

I recall many individuals on Vindy.com doubted whether Allegiant Air would succeed at YNG and I can say unequivocally that it has.

It is time for everyone in the Mahoning Valley to join with us as we strive to bring additional airlines and/or destinations to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.

The negative mindset of far too many people in the Mahoning Valley has doomed this area for years. We refuse to allow the negativity of these individuals to put a damper on the great progress that is being made at YNG.

Join us and FlyYNG!
