Sorry to see this. Some volunteers/workers there weren't very kind to newer volunteers/workers, as was my experience, so this is a great opportunity to clean up and revamp the entire organization and process.

The system isn't broke, it's the intelligence of the voters that is broke.
Sciortino had nothing to lose so he issued the raises: 1}. Because the employees deserved the raises. or 2}. Reward loyalty and/or tightly closed loyal mouths. or 3}. Flip the finger to the taxpayers.
Either way no one would have approved, even if he was trying to do the right thing.
The man is going to jail and I sure wish all the ignorant taxpaying voters whom elected him would go to jail with him, afterall, wasn't he relected years ago while having legal issues?

PLENTY of poor people from Youngstown have been educated and have graduated and have reaped great rewards being successful in their industry and business.
