Reasons for running | I am running for 2nd Ward City Council because it is time for change. Our voices need to be heard in the 2nd Ward and I want to be that voice for my Ward. I have been working in the community for the last 6 years and I am aware of the challenges that comes with the this position, and I plan to make a difference. Having the titles of a woman, mother, and entrepreneur makes me fully capable of identifying and utilizing the resources that are available for my Ward. |
Priorities | My top 3 priorities as your 2nd Ward City Councilwoman is: (1) YOU-the citizen (2) I intend to keep working with non-profits, farmers and farmers markets, grocers, to ensure access to healthy and affordable foods in the 2nd Ward. (3) Our ward is rife with an abundance of under-utilized land that serves no purpose today. I intend to work with our local government, contractors, investors, and builders to ensure that bring affordable and sustainable housing to the 2nd Ward. |
Qualifications | Through my initiatives and efforts within my community I have displayed that I have what it takes to define an issue, look at the resources that are available to aid in addressing the issue, and do what it takes to get an issue resolved. That is the job of a City Council person I am doing it and will continue to for the 2nd Ward when I am elected your next Councilwoman. |
Positions on the issues | I support policies and legislation that ensures the economic security of women and families. Equal pay for equal work is just an example. |
