Area photographer Jeff Hartung captured this westbound CSX train passing through the Valley on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.  Just a few hours later, this same train would derail near Nappanee, Indiana, injuring the crew. While the derailment’s cause remains under investigation, CSX said Thursday in a statement “it appears that severe weather may have been a factor” in the derailment.
