The scene along state Route 46, Niles-Cortland Road, in Howland Township was chaotic just after 4 p.m. Feb. 25, 2017, following multiple shootings at a house in the 1500 block. One person died there, another at a hospital, and three were hospitalized. Homeowner Nasser Hamad, 48, was later convicted of two counts of aggravated murder and six counts of felonious assault and was sentenced to life in prison.
