Neighbors | Abby Slanker.Holding up his end of the bargain to his students, Hilltop Elementary School Principal Joe Maroni was dressed in clothing inspired by classic children’s books, such as swim fins from “Mr. Popper’s Penguins,” a grass skirt from “Junie B. Jones Aloha Ha Ha,” a fancy shirt from “Fancy Nancy,” giant mittens from “The Mitten,” a babushka from “Strega Nona” and a feather boa from “Amazing Grace” at the school’s CHRISTIE Campaign assembly on May 4.
