Girard City School board recently honored 20 students as outstanding leaders for the 2017 Twenty Under 20 program, which is co-sponsored by Kent State Trumbull, The Tribune Chronicle and Akron Childrens Hospital Mahoning Valley. The program recognizes high achieving students for their leadership skills through volunteerism, extracurricular activities and academics. Sarah Ryser, a senior, received a $500 grant to a charity of her choice in recognition of community service. Students from the following schools also were honored: Harding, Hubbard, Chalker, Niles, JFK, Lakeview and Lordstown.
