Seth Welch, a senior at Austintown Fitch High School, was among those recognized and honored for supporting U.S. military veteran causes at the recent 11th annual Patriots Day event outside Quaker Steak and Lube in Austintown. Welch was the driving force behind the construction of a veterans memorial in front of the high school. Others supporting the event included the Fitch High School choir and Marc Pupino, Fitch High School principal, who performed taps. Thirteen people were honored for their courage and service commitment to country as attendees memorialized the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
