The Austintown Junior Women’s League recently erected signs and teal-colored bows at the entrance to Austintown Township Park to promote awareness of ovarian cancer. This event is part of the “Turn the Towns Teal” national campaign, in partnership with the Rose Mary Flanagan Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Fliers and information were left at Stacey Pavilion with information about the early warning signs of ovarian cancer. Anyone in Northeast Ohio touched by this disease can call the foundation 330-518-2431. Information and photos about the AJWL can be found at www.facebook.com/AJWL2014. At right, AJWL members involved in the campaign include, from left, Ruty Rodriguez-Patterson, Peggy Bennett, Genevieve Bodnar, Marye Kay Erickson, Janie Surman, Sue Hovanec and Kathy Rusback.
