Charles H. Houck Sr. of Poland Township was presented with a 50-year service award recently at a banquet at the Argus Masonic Center in Canfield. Houck received recognition for his service to the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of Ohio. Houck served as eminent commander of the Niles Commandery three times. He also was appointed and served as deputy division commander of the 9th Division, for the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of Ohio. He was again honored in 2012 by being selected for the prestigious KCT Award, Knight Commander of the Temple. Houck was a fireman for 38 years for Poland Village before he retired.
