Hermitage Fire Department, Hermitage Police Department and St. Paul United Church of Christ recently hosted the ninth annual chaplains training seminar. There were 58 fire and police chaplains, clergy and mental-health professionals from seven states who completed training in “Strategic Response to Crisis.” Peter Volkmann, regional director for the eastern United States and Puerto Rico for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, led the class. Volkmann is also chief of the Chatham, N.Y., Police Department.
