SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR: The Kiwanis Club of Youngstown donated $1,000 to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program Jan. 13. Carla Hunter, left, Kiwanis president, presented the check to Kathy Mock, a local coordinator for the program and the director of education and initiatives for the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. Imagination Library sends age-appropriate books to registered children from the time they are born until the age of 5 for free. The program was founded by the actress and performer to encourage children to read. More than 1,600 communities provide Imagination Library services to more than one million children every month. For information or to register a child, call United Way at 330-746-8494.
