SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR: Austintown American Legion members Sam Swauger and Robert Kirchner, pictured left, spoke to the Austintown Rotary about Buckeye Boys State at the Jan. 9 meeting. The two men thanked the Rotary for past support and encouraged the club to sponsor a Fitch High School junior at this summer’s event. Buckeye Boys State encourages boys to consider government and safety positions as career options. Cassie Stroup of Oddball Escapes Travel also spoke at the meeting and suggested some new options for travelers and unusual destinations. Pictured right are Ed Kalaher, Rotary president, presenting a book to Stroup to be donated in her honor to the Austintown Elementary School library.
