SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Ron George, right, was inducted as an honorary member of Austintown Rotary Club on Feb. 6 by Ed Kalaher, club president. George is head chef at Manor Restaurant, and earned the honorary status for his support of the club by hosting meetings at the establishment. Below, on behalf of American Legion, Sam Swoger accepted a donation from Kalaher. The donation will fund a local high school delegate’s participation in the Buckeye Boys State program in Columbus this summer. William Farragher, retired marketing director of Youngstown Sheet & Tube, recently joined Austintown Rotary Club as guest speaker. He discussed the rise and fall of the steel industry in the Mahoning Valley. Kalaher presented a book to Farragher which will be placed in the Austintown Elementary School library.
