Pool drained permanently: Untied Excavating Co. crews use a backhoe to fill in the Pemberton Park Pool on Youngstown's South Side Thursday. The pool, built in 1939, was closed by the Park and Recreation Commission last fall after neighbors complained of fights and rowdiness at the recreational area. Crews also will destroy pool buildings to discourage vandals and avoid accidents.
