SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR YWCA of Youngstown hosted its 23rd annual Young Women with Bright Futures Award brunch April 1. Jasmine Woods of Campbell Memorial High School was one of 30 other local high school seniors to receive the Bright Futures Award. All the selected seniors attended leadership sessions, and worked together to host a food drive. Woods placed bins in her high school to collect personal-care items and nonperishable food, and collected a total of 6,000 items. Woods was chosen by her high-school guidance counselor and principals to represent Campbell Memorial. She is a member of the cheerleading squad, PANDA, HPAC, HOSA and National Technical Honor Society. She plans to continue working and volunteering with the YWCA next year.
