SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The Youngstown District of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association recently honored scholarship winners at a dinner at the Avalon Inn, Warren. President Bernadette Demechko announced that a total of $26,500 was awarded among 24 local recipients. Those attending the dinner, in front from left, were Christopher Leombruno, Demechko, Brooke Merrell, Aaron Slifka, Jeffrey Pezzuto and Nicholas Shannon, and in back were Emily Wolfgang; Joseph Shushok; Gabrielle Fellows; Kelly Passmore, winner of the Anna S. Granchay District Scholarship; Brooke Boovnyik; and Mya Agee.
