SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The Piggyback Foundation of Youngstown recently hosted a chocolate fest event at Diletto Winery in Canfield that raised over $1,700. Treats served at the event were donations from local bakeries, restaurants, candy stores and caterers. , Kaitlin, left, and Kim Casto are shown enjoying a selection of sweets. Sponsors included Anthony Bisconti Orthodontics, Styka and Ohl DDS, Valley Christian Schools and New York Life Insurance agent Albert S. Celec Jr. Funds raised during the event will benefit a 5-year-old Youngstown boy battling cancer by providing a family portrait session, backyard swing set and summer art classes for the boy’s older sibling. Making Kids Count was a partner in the event and provided the referral for the Youngstown family. The Piggyback Foundation’s mission is to support families dealing with a serious illness by providing tutoring and enrollment in extracurricular activities for children and special occasion celebrations to promote family togetherness.
