SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a birdhouse decorating contest during Springtime in Columbiana on May 6 and 7. Above is Canna Holmes, a 2015 contestant. Birdhouse kits are available at the chamber office, 333 N. Main St., from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and should be returned during the same hours by May 4. Bird houses are made of earth-friendly material and require a $5 donation. Participants also may enter a self-designed bird house for a $5 donation. Bird houses will be displayed May 6 and 7. Awards of $25 will be given to winners in each category for age 10 and under, 11 to 17 and 18 and older. For information, call the chamber office at 330-482-3822.
