SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | The Berlin Ellsworth Ruritan Club recently presented the Berlin and Ellsworth Fire Departments with “Rudy Ruritan” teddy bears to be carried on emergency vehicles to comfort any children involved in accidents or fires. The bears can be kept by the children after the incident. Ellsworth Fire Chief Robert Sternburg, left, holds some of the teddy bears with Ruritan member Kenny Bennett and president Lee Fowler, and Berlin Fire Chief Rick Peppel. The mission of the Ruritans is to make America’s local communities better places in which to live and work through community service.
