SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | Members of the Holy Family Youth Ministry participated in a winter retreat on Feb. 20 in conjunction with the Youngstown Youth Collaborative, a collaboration of area Catholic youth ministries. The day began with a retreat followed by a lunch at Holy Family. The group then left for the Polar Blast at Brandywine for an afternoon of snow tubing, despite temperatures in the high 60s. They concluded witha 5 p.m. Mass at St. Barnabas Parish in Northfield. Coordinators for the event were the following youth ministers: Tracey Smrek, St. Luke; Alvera Bell and Virginia Bartos, Christ Our Shepherd; Jocelyn Welsh and Gerry Land, St. Joseph/ Our Land of the Lakes; and Natalie Wardle, St. Charles/ St. Brendan. Among those enjoying the day were from left, Mark Stein, Abbey Lea, Meredith Lea, Tori Moderalli, Izzac Lange, Stephen Babik, Brendan Kuzior, Maria LoCicero, and kneeling, Viktorya Lange.
