SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | The Columbiana Rotary Club hosted its annual four-way speech contest recently at Columbiana High School. Nine high school students delivered four- to seven-minute speeches on topics of their choice and incorporated four-way test questions, a set of nonpartisan and nonsectarian moral guidelines that all Rotarians are urged to apply in personal and professional relationships. They include the following: Is it the truth? Is it fair? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? First place was awarded to Cheyenne Carr, center, who spoke about the bystander effect; second place was awarded to Michael Vargo, right, and third to Dean Elnaas. The Rotary will issue cash prizes to the winners.
