SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The Kiwanis Club of Newton Falls awarded Zachary Digman, left, and Makayla Heintz scholarships for academic excellence and community involvement at a senior awards assembly at Newton Falls High School on May 17. Members of the scholarship committee unanimously voted for the two seniors after anonymously comparing their grades, attendance, essays and volunteerism. Kathy Wujcik, right, as Kiwanis treasurer and Digman’s former teacher, presented the students with their awards and checks on behalf of the club. Students at the assembly were also given information on Circle K International, a branch of university Kiwanis service groups.
